We are seeking a Marketing Manager for maternity cover to support a busy, collaborative architectural practice in Manchester city centre.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction or property sector and be confident across the full marketing mix. Experience of public and private sector bids would also be beneficial. The maternity cover term will be 14 months, starting in November 2026 to allow for handover at the beginning and end of the placement. We are open to applicants looking to work between three and five days a week.
This is a varied maternity cover role suited to someone who enjoys combining strategic planning with hands-on delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across the practice and play a key role in keeping marketing, bids and business development activity moving forward during the cover period. You will benefit from the support of the existing Marketing Coordinator who you will manage.
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Plan and manage business development and marketing activity in line with wider practice objectives.
- Maintain a clear marketing and business development calendar covering campaigns, events, deadlines and key activity.
- Attend regular business development meetings with senior colleagues and external advisors, helping to coordinate priorities and follow up actions.
- Review new tender and opportunity alerts, helping to assess suitability and share relevant opportunities with senior colleagues.
- Take overall responsibility for end-to-end bid coordination, including planning, writing, gathering technical input and managing submissions.
- Review website content and marketing collateral, including brochures, CVs and presentations, identifying updates and coordinating improvements.
- Draft and approve written content for news updates, journals, campaign materials and other communications channels.
- Oversee social media activity, including engagement, scheduling, drafting and approving posts.
- Oversee monthly email communications to client and contact database.
- Commission new photography and video content with approved external suppliers when required.
- Coordinate and prepare award submissions as required.
- Manage external marketing and PR consultants in relation to content production, media activity and campaign delivery.
- Oversee CRM database management, ensuring contact information and communication preferences are kept up to date.
- Lead annual client feedback and client listening activity, helping to gather insight and support ongoing relationship development.
- Maintain awareness of relevant industry events and coordinate attendance, sponsorship or hospitality opportunities where appropriate.
- Manage and support the organisation of corporate hospitality and industry events aligned with the marketing and business development calendar.
- Support budget planning and monitoring for marketing and business development activity.
- Oversee regular reporting on marketing, business development and bid activity, including progress against agreed objectives.
- Support client approval, competency and insurance information requests, ensuring responses are accurate and timely.
- Help maintain relevant company accreditations, standards and client portal information.
- Keep client and tender portal profiles up to date with current company information, policies and insurance details.
