We are seeking an experienced Job Running Architect or Technologist, with at least 10 years industry experience, to join our 90+ Manchester City Centre architectural practice.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent overall job running skills and strong technical knowledge to lead a number of projects at detail design stage and beyond. You must possess excellent communication and organisational skills, including the ability to lead and work with a small team of colleagues.
You will be working as a Job Runner for a number of residential re-cladding and remediation projects, and therefore previous experience of this sector is beneficial. A fundamental working knowledge of the Building Safety Act and Autodesk AutoCAD is also essential, along with a knowledge of Revit being desirable, although further training will be provided to the right candidate as part of our on-boarding process.
As part of your competency, your day-to-day role will require you to:
- Act as the main point of contact for Clients and lead the design team, effectively communicating with all members.
- Supervise less experienced members of staff, setting job specific briefs and timescales, and assisting in identifying and prioritising tasks
- Check the work of less experienced members of the team to ensure that drawings are to the required standards and in line with the company’s procedures.
- Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of the UK planning process, Building Regulations, CDM Regulations and other relevant legislation
- Identify and summarise problems and criteria for detailed technical design solutions, carrying out research and providing technical information as required.
- Lead the overall coordination of the design, including review of other consultants’ and sub-contractor’s drawings.
- Lead design team meetings and positively contribute to all project meetings, including producing minutes and reports as required.
- Oversee and contribute to the production of technical design documentation sufficient for tender purposes and submission of Building Control applications.
- Oversee and contribute to the preparation of construction standard information including drawings, specifications and schedules.
You will also be expected to:
- Take responsibility for familiarising yourself with, and adhering to, all AEW company policies and procedures.
- Together with your line manager, identify your own development needs, take into consideration current work activities and career goals.
- Undertake structured and unstructured CPD activities to ensure personal development and log the time accordingly.
