Working with Bankfoot APAM, we have submitted plans for Hawleys Lane in Warrington. The application includes the redevelopment of the outdated existing logistics facility on the 14-acre site, helping to maximise the potential of the site and boost the local economy and employment space offer.
The existing units will be replaced by four energy efficient industrial buildings, landscaping and car parking. The units range in size from 50,000 sqft to 100,000 sqft and together will provide 295,000 sqft of logistics space.
Other site enhancements will include onsite sheltered cycle storage, 29 EV charging points and the retention of existing planting – alongside improvement of overall Bio-Diversity Net Gain on the site. The scheme is notable as it is targeting BREEAM Excellent – with AEW also acting as BREEAM Assessor.
Director, Alan Lamb has said of the scheme:
“Our focus has been on creating a sustainable, context-driven design. We explored a range of layouts to maximise the site’s potential, while carefully reducing the impact on neighbouring residents and retaining existing trees to enhance the landscape. The use of active frontages, high-quality materials and glazing ensures a welcoming environment, and we are working closely across disciplines to deliver a scheme that aspires to BREEAM Excellent.”
Hawleys Lane builds upon our diverse portfolio of sustainable industrial and logistics projects we are working on nationwide. This includes schemes at Cheadle Eco Business Park in Stockport and Project Halo in St Helens which are both targeting BREEAM Outstanding.
