Celebrating an AJ100 Hat-trick

We’re proud to announce that AEW has been named in the AJ100 rankings for the third year running.
Organised by the Architects’ Journal, the AJ100 celebrates the UK’s largest and most successful architectural practices, recognising firms that demonstrate innovation, ambition, and excellence – as measured by the number of qualified architects employed.
This recognition reflects the continued growth of our practice, including our expansion into London and the successful delivery of an ever-growing portfolio of work. Crucially, this achievement has also been driven by our commitment to nurturing talent from within. Our increased number of qualified architects is in large part thanks to the professional development of our Architectural Assistants – including, most recently, Rebecca, Jennifer, and Kyra, who all qualified as Architects in October 2024.
Andrew Rainford, Managing Director, said:
“Being recognised in the AJ100 for the third consecutive year is a proud moment for AEW. It reflects not just our growth as a business, but the strength of our people, our culture of mentorship, and our commitment to delivering outstanding architecture across the UK.”
This accolade follows further success for the practice, including being shortlisted for Architectural Practice of the Year at the Insider North West Property Awards for the seventh time. Our recent work on Oldham Spindles was also recently recognised with the Innovation Award at the BCO Northern Region Awards 2025.
