Our Proposals for iCities, TraffordCity Have Been Submitted

Plans have now been submitted for a major new 3,000-capacity ice rink at TraffordCity. Delivered in partnership by landowner Peel Waters and leisure developer iCITIES, the venue will be operated by national ice rink provider Planet Ice.

The new arena has been designed with flexibility in mind, the facility will host elite-level ice hockey, public skating, training programmes, and community events – helping meet growing demand for ice time across Greater Manchester and the North West.

Going beyond the traditional rink model, the development includes a sports bar, family restaurant, party rooms, and supporting amenities to create a vibrant, all-day leisure destination. Located within TraffordCity’s expanding adventure and sports cluster, the scheme will further enhance the area’s unique offer.

This project adds to our growing portfolio of sports and leisure developments, which includes the Halifax Leisure Centre – a cost-effective, high-quality community facility for Calderdale Council.
