We’re making our Cumbrian Challenge Return

Our team are making their return to the Cumbrian Challenge 2026, raising funds for Walking with the Wounded.

The charity delivers early intervention programmes and improves access to therapy, supporting veterans and their families who are facing challenges such as poor mental health, unemployment and homelessness.

In total 17 members of staff, spread across four teams, will take on the challenge and help raise much needed funds for the charity. This will involve a difficult hike around the Lake District alongside other teams of veterans and supporters. Our teams will either take on “The Tough” a 22km course with a 1,140m ascent or the “Tougher” a 27km course with a 1,570m ascent.

Kate Silvester, AEW’s Social Value Committee Chair has said: “Taking on the Cumbrian Challenge has become a core part of our social value programme at AEW, and we look forward to returning to Grasmere on the 16th May to both challenge ourselves and raise funds for a worthwhile charity”.

Three teams taking on the ‘The Tough’ are:
