Matt Bell: Apprentice to Architect
Share Article
A massive congratulations to Matt Bell on passing his RIBA Part III examination and interview, officially becoming our newest Architect!
Matt originally joined AEW in 2019 as a Part I Architectural Assistant before choosing to complete his professional studies via a Level 7 Architect (Integrated Degree) Apprenticeship at Birmingham City University.
Throughout his degree, Matt successfully balanced university study with hands-on practice, developing strong experience in the industrial and logistics sector. His work has focused on large-scale, multi-phased masterplans as well as smaller, specialist facilities. Matt has played a key role in the delivery of Carrington Gateway for Wain Estates and has supported projects including Cheadle Eco Business Park for Stockport Council and Basford East, Crewe for Muse Developments.
Alongside his project work and apprenticeship studies, Matt has also made a valuable contribution to the wider team as one of our qualified Mental Health First Aiders.
Dan O’Hara, Associate Director, said: “Matt’s journey is a great example of what can be achieved through commitment, talent and the right support. He’s been a real asset to the team, and we’re delighted to see him reach this milestone.”
Our support of Matt is rooted in our desire to meet the needs of as many budding architects as possible by supporting alternative routes into the industry. The traditional route is a great option for many, but for those with different needs, apprenticeships can be just the ticket.
